That's right, it's almost that time of year again: National Novel Writing Month, when all your aspiring author friends lock themselves to their computers and emerge from the writing trance only for the meanest biological needs (and sometimes not even then).

I exceeded my personal goal of 20,000 words in 2009 and missed the boat entirely last year, but this time I'm going full throttle and shooting for the full 50,000 words. I have an idea and most of an outline in my head, and I figure the rest will sort itself out as I get there. I know how I'm starting it, anyway, and that's the hardest part.
